Welcome to the Modern Southern Woman!  I would ask you if you would like a glass of iced tea but alas this isn't a face to face, sitting on the porch, meet and greet.  However, I am still very pleased to meet you and so happy that you stopped by!  Let me tell you a little bit about myself.  My name is Lesley and I am determined to bring Southern gentility back into our modern society.  I was raised to be a Southern lady.  As I have gotten older and raised my three children somewhere along the way our society has lost the gentle, mannerly way of life that we once knew.  I realized to my disbelief that even my children have been affected by this modern time.  They are grown now but it is never too late to learn the art of gentility, manners, and Southern hospitality.

A Southern woman is a lady who lives by an etiquette code with rules passed down from generation to generation.  The rules are not just simple rules, such as serving sweet iced tea to your guests.  A woman learns these unwritten rules from doting Mama's and Grandmama's.  The main ingredient in the code is to always show your softer side and to never let on that you are truly stronger than you look.

To be a Southern Belle is to live life with subtle nuances of tradition and good manners that never go out of style.  It is not the drawl that makes a girl into a Belle, it is the quality of your traditions.  This blog is dedicated to the women and young women who want to show their softer side and to stand out in the crowd.  Especially in today's society, where good manners and etiquette are nearly non-existent.  Within this blog are some helpful hints that will make life a little easier, from household tips to beauty tips, from the art of flirting to dieting tips,  home remedies to household organization, proper etiquette and good manners, and last but certainly not least, some good ole Southern recipes. I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I have enjoyed writing it!
